Overview

Badger offers customer order return processing for orders originally fulfilled by Badger.

Upon receipt, returned products will be inspected and processed as follows:

  • Products in good condition will be returned to inventory.
  • Products that are used, damaged, or otherwise unsuitable for resale will be disposed of.

Clients are responsible for providing return shipping labels to their customers, as Badger does not generate or provide return labels.

For freight returns, submit an Inbound Freight Pickup Request under Operations in the Help Center if you would like Badger to schedule the shipment.

If you would like customer returns sent to Badger for processing, please have them shipped to:

Harvard, IL 60033

Return Requirements

To ensure returned orders can be identified and processed, the following information must be clearly displayed on the outside of every parcel or pallet. This information may be included on the shipping label or Bill of Lading, or customers may write or affix it to the outside of the package:

  • Original Store Order Number (or Shipment Order Code)
  • Customer Full Name

Small Parcel Returns

No action is required before a small parcel return is shipped to Badger. A Purchase Order is not required.

Returned packages are automatically received and processed using the original order number displayed on the package.

Freight (Pallet) Returns

For freight returns, create a Purchase Order in your Dashboard (similar to a standard inbound shipment). In the Purchase Order Number field, enter:

[Order Number] – Order Return

Return Processing

Clients are not notified when small parcel returns (including Return to Sender (RTS) shipments) are received.

To monitor return activity and processing status, use the Return Order Reports in your Dashboard.

Badger does not provide photos or inspection documentation for returned products. Products determined to be used, damaged, or otherwise unsuitable for resale will be disposed of at Badger's discretion.

Order returns are typically processed within 5 business days, after which eligible products are returned to inventory and become available for fulfillment. Processing times may be longer during holidays and Peak Season (October 1 – January 31).

Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

In accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and industry best practices, many consumer packaged goods (CPG) cannot be returned to inventory due to health, hygiene, and product safety requirements, regardless of their condition.

For these products, Badger recommends that clients manage customer returns internally or instruct customers to keep or dispose of unwanted items, rather than returning them to the warehouse.

Examples of products that are commonly not eligible for return to inventory include:

  • Food and snacks
  • Beverages
  • Dietary supplements and vitamins
  • Over-the-counter medications
  • Cosmetics and personal care products
  • Hygiene products
  • Household cleaning and sanitary products
  • Products with expiration dates or lot-controlled inventory
  • Pet food and pet supplements
  • Infant formula and baby food

Replacement Orders

Replacement orders must be created by the client in their connected ecommerce store or directly in their Dashboard.

Return to Sender (RTS)

Return to Sender (RTS) refers to an order that is returned to Badger's warehouse because it could not be delivered. Common reasons include an incorrect or incomplete shipping address, the customer having moved, or the shipment being refused.

Upon receipt, RTS shipments are inspected and, if the products are in their original, resalable condition, they are automatically returned to inventory, including eligible CPG products.
